A. Insert Topic
You can use the mouse to click the menu "Edit->Insert->Topic" to add a topic; also can select either a topic, click on the "Edit->Insert->Subtopic" to add a subtopic for the selected topic.
Add a topic can also use the shortcut keys:
- Enter: Add topic
- Insert: Add a subtopic
- Ctrl+Shift+Insert: Add a topic or subtopic above. The inserted topic will have the same parent topic as the selected topic.
- Shift + Enter: Add a topic or subtopic below. The inserted topic will have the same parent topic as the selected topic.
- Shift + mouse click: Add a floating topic at the mouse click position. (Floating topic has no relationship with other exisiting topics, mainly used to add comments; or when brainstorming, add random ideas before carefully organizing them)
B.Add callout topic
You can add callout topic to a topic, relationship or boundary, and callout topic can be deleted as normal topic. To add a callout topic, you should choose a topic or a relationship or a boundary, then click "Edit->Insert->Callout" menu item.
C. Add a boundary
Boundary draws a multiline around the selected topic and it's all subtopics for emphasising them.You first select a topic, then click the "Edit->Insert->Boundary" menu item.
D. Organizing topics
You can drag a topic to any location.
E. Add a relationship
If there is a relationship between two topics, you can use "relationship" to show that connection. First click on "Edit->Insert->Relation" menu item, this action will change the shape of the mouse; move the mouse and click on the first topic, then the second topic, a "relastionship" will be added between the first and second topics.
F. Add Note
Note is comments for a topic. If a topic has a note, there will be an icon on it's right side .An icon like this:
Click on the "Edit->Insert->Note" menu item, the note dialog box will show at the left side of mindv by default:
In the note dialog box, you can input rich text in the textbox. All your input will be saved as the current selected topic's note. When you selected another topic, the textbox in note dialog box will reflect the note content of the newly selected topic.
